However I wonder whether it wouldn't be simpler to merge 3 and 4
again, using this router:

and advising to use
* smart.host
in /etc/exim4/uucp for smarthost setups is not easier than requiring
to search for $domain_data and replace it with the hostname.[1]

Be aware that this is just me wondering/suggesting/asking, this is
*your* call. - If you think the other way is better it is done.

misconception about "*" and wildlsearch.
