I would investgate this

> getent hosts 10.0.yy.yy		# WIFI address
> 10.0.yy.yy      myhostname

and this. This should give a fully qualified output as well, I think.

No problem, I meant my local exim -bt -d+all output I obtained. Yours
looks the same, the qualification process is not in the log. I'll post
a question on the upstream mailing list later today.
