Not sure this works out of the box since the Google servers use SMTPS and 
don't support STARTTLS and exim (when acting as a "client") refuses to use 
SMTPS and only talks STARTTLS.  Last time I checked at least.

I have heard of some hacks that involve stunnel to handle the SSL/TLS on 
connect that Google seems to require.
