Sorry about the delay but nor me, neither Michael have little to no
expertise/interest of struggling with proprietary systems. Therefor I
just held my breath and let macports enthusiast (thank you once again!)
James Kyle to resolve the issue. Here what he says while boarding a
plane to go somewhere south:

,---
| I've fixed the issues and made the changes live.
|
| I've verified that mvpa.cfg shows both libsvm and shogun as active.
|
| I also removed the python 2.5 port of pymvpa, so now only the 2.6 is offered. There's virtually no difference between the two releases except warnings on deprecated modules and it should simplify problems. Also, the
| default variants of shogun and other deps are set up for python 2.6.
|
| So simply doing a:

|
| sudo port install py26-pymvpa
|

| will produce a working build with no warnings in the build process that might confuse users
`---

So I guess, you would need to

sudo port update

and then

sudo port install py26-pymvpa

and it should work this time ;)

alternatively, just build from git repository (described online) -- not that big of a deal really if you have already all dependencies available.

Cheers
