I am starting to think that I'd like a pure-Python 'nipy-base' package
that provides the common objects, and on which people can rely to build
algorithmes. Off course the day this package goes green, we must enforce
backward compatibility very strongly.

It would be useful to serve as a comon layer between Python neuroimaging
tools, and thus help for collaboration. In my vision, it would provide
vimage, with a pure-Python implementation.

Just a thought...
