Yes it is not supported anymore, on wiki.cchtml.com you will find the
following (supported cards):
MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 (M10/M11 4E50) (or not; see ATI bugzilla)

The release notes say, that it is supported, but it has been dropped
since a while (the supported list is not very accurate..), that's ATI/AMD.

Yes, 8-12-4 just entered Lenny a few days ago, a binNMU for the
fglrx-modules have been scheduled.

I could provide you the fglrx 8-7-3 driver, but it will not work with
further kernel versions and also has a big huge of bugs.. okay 8-12 also ;)
