Package: gnash
Version: 0.8.11~git20120629-1
Severity: important
First of all, I'd like to thank you for your
efforts to package gnash for Debian.
The Free Software Foundation says it places a high
priority on gnash.
http://www.fsf.org/campaigns/priority-projects/
I wish I didn't feel the need to mention this, but
at least for me, gnash doesn't work.
Oh, it starts out looking OK, but when it's time
to actually play a video, it fails.
Here's how I elicited the bug:
1.) Run the "iceweasel" web browser.
2.) Visit the YouTube page of Richard M. Stallman
singing the Free Software Song.
It's at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sJUDx7iEJw
3.) Click on the black and white triangular play
button in the center of the window.
4.) The first few frames are rendered, but then
the video hangs.
The gray status bar keeps creeping across the
window, but the video hangs.
I heard no sound.
A screen capture video of the bug happening is
attached.
It works with the video player named "ffplay".
Thank you for your time and attention,
Kingsley
