OK, I will adjust the Suggests accordingly then.

All these suggestions will be moved to the open font design toolkit
metapackage.

The idea is to make the Debian environment a friendly place for
designers. A one click (one command) install of the whole font design
toolkit is a good step in that direction.

The FTP-masters have already made a decision in favor of the license.

And I had good discussions with MJ Ray and Don Armstrong about the
freeness of the OFL 1.1 after MJ's talk about the work of debian-legal:

MJ was happy with the clarifications of intent expressed in the current
version:  substitution systems are outside the scope of the license and
adding debian packaging is not branching the font. (So there is no need
to do a Debian-specific branch for the fonts).

Don had no other objections than the name protection compromise (and its
potentially functional aspect) which is crucial for font designers and
fits with DFSG #4. We agreed that theoretically it would be ideal not to
have this but without it almost no designer will make the step to
release their creation under a DFSG-recognized font-specific license.

I will reply in a few days to the earlier list thread comparing the OFL
with the GPL / GPL + exception.
