[Pkg-fonts-devel] STIX Fonts Beta Test Version Ready for Download

The STIX Fonts project group is pleased to announce the availability of the STIX Fonts in beta test version. You are being notified of this milestone because you requested that we contact you when the files were available for download.  The fonts can be downloaded by clicking on this link (http://www.stixfonts.org/font_download.jsp) or by visiting the STIX Fonts Web site (www.stixfonts.org) and clicking on the "Download the STIX Fonts" button.

The download file is a ZIP file containing the 29 OpenType font files plus a README.txt file with instructions.  The file size is about 800 KB.

This beta test is limited to the OpenType version of the STIX Fonts.  Now that the font designs are complete, we are working to prepare a LaTeX support package for the Type1 version of the STIX Fonts. This package should be ready for beta test before the end of 2007.

We know that many of you have been waiting patiently (or not so ;-) for a long time to receive these fonts.  Please try them out and provide us with your feedback using the methods described in the README file.
