Thank you for your input. I think I'll go for the
"ttf-mscorefonts-installer" name then; the font set is actually called "MS
Core Fonts" [for the Web] so keeping that name in the package name makes
sense to me. Even if the term 'fonts' is a bit duplicated, it doesn't hurt
to be a bit more verbose and use a recognisable name.

Yes, there was a bug about that filed a month ago but closed by the
maintainer. It seems the fonts aren't exactly the same and hence not
compatible. I'm reopening the bug and making it serious, see #425201 for
more details.

ttf-liberation only contains the most important fonts. I think demand will
significantly diminish, but for those still wanting to use Webdings or
Andale, this package would still be useful I guess.
