You're referring to #472772; I've tried to gather all infos (including a reference to #472772)
in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=472830

that's true. Differently from many software pieces, it tends to evolve
very quickly, sometimes with radical changes like in this case. It can
be sometimes good and sometimes bad (like in this case)
