Hi Steve,
I've worked on the new package since its release and I'm currently stuck with a problem:
one of the "products" of the build, is an "udeb" package meant to be used by the Debian
graphical installer: it consists of a ttf files with a stripped down set of glyphs.
The stripped down ttfs are created via a fontforge script.

To make sure the udeb is fine, i render some text with the standard ttf, then I render
the same text with the stripped ttf and compare the two images, expecting no differences.

This test fails, for example for Bengali, Gujarati and Hindi languages, which are supported
by te udeb: this means that one of that removed glyph ranges causes the problem, but haven't
figured out yet with one.
Here's the list of stripped ranges:

u0370:u03FF # Greek and Coptic
u0400:u052F # Cyrilic
u0530:u058F # Armenian
u0590:u05FF # Hebrew

regards,
Davide
