[Pkg-fonts-devel] ttf-bitstream-vera should not have been removed

Hi,

I have noticed unexpectedly that ttf-bitstream-vera was removed from
unstable some time ago, as requested by Daniel Baumann. However,
ttf-dejavu might be more complete, but there are some reasons why the
original Vera fonts are better for occidental languages; which is why
they are still selected by default in fontconfig when they are
installed.

Given Keith’s reaction, he’ll probably volunteer to maintain it if
Daniel doesn’t want to do it anymore. I’m also CCing pkg-fonts in case
people want to jump on the occasion to team-maintain it instead.

Is it possible to put back ttf-bitstream-vera in unstable, using the
version in testing (which was the last uploaded one anyway)? Otherwise,
I guess we just have to wait for a new upload.

Cheers,
