[Pkg-fonts-devel] Is there anybody keeping an eye on the STIX project?

Hi.

We already have an otf-stix font package in our repository, but that
only consists of the beta version of the fonts.

The STIX fonts are very important for those typesetting technical texts.
They are desireable for use with Xe(La)TeX and it seems that they are
nearing the completion of a first release:

People have been joking about the long time that it is taking them to
release the final product, and that their homepage only lists the day
and month of the update, but not the year. :-)

I've been watching their page about once a month since last December and
the updates are being done in the present. :-)

Anyway, is there anybody else keeping an eye on this? I would consider
this one of the good things to enable the presentation of Mathematics
(via MathML) on the web. (I have, FWIW, a background on Mathematics).

Just curious,
