It seems like there is only one dedicated ethiopic (ttf-sil-abyssinica)
font in the repositories yet, so this package of different fonts will
enhance the choice for users of this script in Debian. I came to packing
this piece of software when I searched for an exercise in packaging in
Ubuntu. Because I am generally interested in ancient and exotic scripts
I made the package, even without knowledge of the ethiopic script.

The package is uploaded on mentors.debian.net:

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/ttf-washra-fonts

A collection of unicode fonts for the Ethiopic script

WashRa is, simply, a set of eleven Ethiopic fonts. All of them support
the Ethiopic standard included in Unicode 3.0. The fonts are: Ethiopia
Jiret, Ethiopic Zelan, Ethiopic WashRa Bold, Ethiopic WashRa SemiBold,
Ethiopic Yigezu Bisrat Gothic, Ethiopic Hiwua, Ethiopic Fantuwua,
Ethiopic Yebse, Ethiopic Wookianos, Ethiopic Tint, Ethiopic Yigezu
Bisrat Goffer. These fonts were developed by Abass Alamnehe of the
Senamirmir Project (http://www.senamirmir.com).
The WashRa fonts are released under the SIL Open Font License and for
more information please visit http://scripts.sil.org/OFL.

By the way I ignored the lintian warning over quilt version for now,
since I don't feel that a software unchanged for years needs a patch
system. So it's not worth the effort to introduce myself into quilt.

Awaiting your comments
