 There are some font package that put .otf files under /usr/share/fonts/opentype
 directory, and I guess the problem you say is dvips specific issue, right?
 So it's not for otf-ipaexfont but problem in dvips (dvipsk-ja?) setting.

 Is it hard to add search path for /usr/share/fonts/opentype/* to dvips 
 by default? (or cause any problem?)
