Just as a note: a bit of detective work can sometimes turn up a contact,
and some of the upstreams will actually be willing to re-license under a
DFSG-free license if they are asked politely.

Doing this kind of detective + outreach work can be a serious
contribution to the goal of having a good free font selection (at least
as much as packaging fonts which are already DFSG-free); if you
undertake it, please report back with what happened!
