i'd say the right thing to do is to fix lintian to the new package
naming convention.

Could you file a bug report against lintian, pointing to the new fonts
package naming policy?  I don't know where that is.

(i've cc'ed the lintian maintainers team here, maybe they have some
suggestions too)
