The more I think about it, the more I see it silly and frivolous to drop the
"Linux" part of the font name, especially without approval from upstream
(which is important in this case).

I could try to contact them, but I would feel ashamed to ask them "Hey,
would you change the name of your font? It doesn't feel good having a font
named Linux foo that is able to be used on systems kernels other than Linux,
you know?". I lack this courage.

Asking them to change the license would be a totally different matter, as
that would matter for redistribution, but the name?

Anyway, just upload whatever the font with whatever name you want.  I can't
upload anything anyway, and even if I could, I would not upload given that
there are still disagreements.

Anyway #2, if it is just the package name being changed, then it won't harm
much (except cause confusion). OTOH, changing the font naming (either via
changing the fonts *or* creating fontconfig aliases) is a big no no.

Nevertheless, I hope that you respect my right to disagree.
