/me mumbles about invasive changes done in Ubuntu without any attempt
to forward them upstream (and by upstream, I mean us...and the DejaVu
authors).

Davide, what is the method you would recommend to forward this in
upstream DejaVu? I'm not sure this patch is acceptable to them (Uyghur
characters are quite specific and, like several Arabic scripts glyphs,
they often use advanced features).
