I followed this [1] just replace SVN_URL with
svn+ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-fonts/packages/fonts-name but be sure
to use all option given in the below link else you will end up having
trunk tag and branches in git :-)

May be we can slowly start migrating fonts to git? I know this was
discussed before and bubulle told the decision is upto maintainer.

Also we can integrate PET as we have thousands of font packages PET
dashboard will be helpful to see the status of each fonts in repo. Let
me know what you think of it.
