It definitely has some benefit but again if we think of freedom of
modification. We have to convert ttf to .sfd and sometime we loose some
information during process.

Nope we are not doing this way.
We forked only once and then onwards following our own development
cycle. Mostly, we see new updates to Croscore and incorporate it to
Liberation.
Even i am not aware of any recent releases of Croscore. Does anyone?
