It is not a simple transition: The project is dead upstream.  Main part 
has a sort-of replacement (but not exactly!) in fonts-noto, but another 
part is preserved in Debian as fonts-droid-fallback because the exact 
form is needed (for Ghostscript - not sure if other places too).
