Hi,

It looks like newer build system of fontforge as seen on latest release
needs active interent connection to build it.

Basically it has a script called bootstrap which tries to clone gnulib
From their repository ¹. This is not accepted by the Debian build
systems so I wonder how should we proceed.

Also the packaging script provided in fontforge under
Packaging/debian/cp-src/rules refer to invoking the bootstrap file
before it begins the actuall configuration.

I'm not really familiar with the fontforge build process and if some one
has some insight on these and provide suggestion on how to proceed.

If required we can file a bug in fontforge upstream to get more
support.
