[Pkg-fonts-devel] how does a new packaging repo get created?

I did that, it worked, thank you. Now I need to create the branches for
gbp. I was going to do the following, as I learned at [1]

gbp import-dsc --create-missing-branches package-name-version.dsc

where the .dsc file would be created with debuild as mentioned in the
New Maintainers' Guide [2]. Is there a better workflow to follow?
