[pkg-fso-maint] debian: setting up cross compiling?

i decided to have a look at rosetta  
(http://www.handhelds.org/project/rosetta/) and would like to set up a  
cross compiling environment for eclipse (see  
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Development_with_Eclipse).
there#s a lot of packages for cross compiling available in the repostories  
-- but no meta package to install everything needed at once.
all howtos so far explain how to build the toolchain from source, but with  
the debian packages and all, that seems pretty pointless to me.

so, any of you guys set up a real cross compiling environment (ie not  
pbuilder) with the debs available? and if so, what to do and which  
pitfalls to avoid?
