well, it was mostly a matter of phrasing -- most phones do not allow  
disabling sounds before switched on (the treo 270, 600 and 650 have a  
switch, so, technically, one has not to switch on the phone).

well, i think people installing debian on their fr (and that's the  
audience i was speaking of, not debian in general) could be expected to  
know what they do.

right, i only try to make clear why i tink a recommendation is better then  
a dependency.

no offense intended, but how is the fiddling with u-a meant to be easier  
compared to installing a recommendation?

not using the sounds but installing the package.
