IIRC it's not possible to exclude single branches from the commit mails.

I started working on the Alioth's git-commit-notice in the past [1], but
then I stopped since I was thinking about a general commit script for
all DVCSs (at least darcs, Git and Mercurial).  Feel free to hijack my
bug report ;-)

I did this for StumpWM [2], but I'm still not sure it's the best
option.  Having a full Git repository (i.e. upstream+debian) on Alioth
means that we don't rely on any external repository.
