I would like to add the following tasks, even if the device doesn't
have a keyboard:
* Chat / IM
* Remote Login
Apropos web browser: Since I'm a web browser freak, I installed a
big bunch of web browsers on the OpenMoko. My result: Everything using
Gecko seems horribly slow, webkit based browser are slightly better.
Since I prefer browsers capable of CSS, Dillo and Links2 were not my
favourite ones. So I currently use NetSurf -- which still takes
eternities to load.
So I wonder if I have overseen something. What web browsers do others
run on the FreeRunner?
My opinion about other points:
* wifi: wicd, since wifi-radar seems to require root and my personal
goal for Debian on the OpenMoko is to move to a user interfaces
which runs under a non-root user.
* Chat / IM: Probably pidgin, even if it isn't lightweight, because it
has (AFAIK) the broadest range of supported protocols. Not sure
which IRC client is resource friendly and easy to use with a
* Remote Login:
- SSH Server (if wanted): dropbear
- SSH Client: Probably putty
- RDP Client: Probably grdesktop
* Games: XBill! Nothing makes playing xbill easier than a touchscreen!
