it happens on pre-compiling the python-modules in postinst (update- 
python-modules openmoko-panel-plugin)
apparently, when python2.4 installed it tries to also pre-compile the  
modules for python2.4 ..

when someone has an idea on how to handle this i'd like to do so, but  
until then we have to live with it :/
