Tested. It works.
Two things:
1. police size is quite small under Debian. I don't know if this is a
system gtk setting?
2. I got again right after boot, an exception because the framework did
not answer to my app. The zhone gui was unable to get serving +
neighbour cell info neither.
After a reboot, everything went smoothly.

distutils does just that :-) Nice indeed.
