Ha!
Same here. Good that I'm reading mail while my FR does a fsck :)

A bit more info:
* The network comes up on both sides.
* It just dies rather quickly. From the syslog on my desktop machine:

(belanna is my desktop, deanna the freerunner which logs to belanna
via rsyslog.)

Side note: after the boot the the gsm, wifi and bt devices are up,
which is new. gps is down.

Yeah, helps here too. Thanks!

Here ogsmd whines:

2010.03.16 20:10:09.284 ogsmd.modems.ti_calypso INFO Requesting new channel from 'fso-abyss'
2010.03.16 20:10:09.402 ogsmd.modems.ti_calypso CRITICAL Error allocating channel ogsmd.unsolicited : org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name :1.23 was not provided by any .service files
2010.03.16 20:10:09.408 ogsmd.modem.abstract ERROR could not open channel UNSOL, retrying in 2 seconds

Still the same after restarting frameworkd.

...

Further messing around with a couple of daemons doesn't help either.

Using gsm0710muxd instead of fso-abyss ... ah, that looks better.
No usaged either but well. At least zavai can do the PIN dance
successfully.

BTW: We have two new files:
/etc/freesmartphone/conf/openmoko_gta/fsousaged.conf and
/etc/freesmartphone/conf/default/fsousaged.conf (look like
/etc/freesmartphone/fsousaged.conf). What does this tell us?

Some time laster fsousaged runs. Whatever has started it. Hm.

2010-03-16T19:36:48.108892Z [WARN] UsageController <0 R>: Invalid lowlevel_type none; suspend/resume will NOT be available!

That's probably from my /etc/freesmartphone/fsousaged.conf. Or from
/etc/freesmartphone/conf/default/fsousaged.conf.

Trial-and-error. Seems to be from /etc/freesmartphone/fsousaged.conf.

2010-03-16T19:42:25.417927Z [INFO] fsousaged : Binary launched successful (FsoFrameworkFileLogger created as theLogger)
2010-03-16T19:42:25.683462Z [INFO] LowLevelKernel26 <>: Registering kernel26 low level suspend/resume handling
2010-03-16T19:42:25.684534Z [INFO] UsageController <0 R>: Ready. Using lowlevel plugin kernel26 to handle suspend/resume

Now that's from /etc/freesmartphone/conf/default/fsousaged.conf, so
/etc/freesmartphone/conf/openmoko_gta/fsousaged.conf seems to be
ignored. Mhm.

Another nice piece of info at the end:

# mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.ousaged /org/freesmartphone/Usage org.freesmartphone.Usage.SetResourcePolicy GSM enabled
ERROR:dbus.connection:Unable to set arguments ('GSM',) according to signature u'ss': <type 'exceptions.TypeError'>: More items found in D-Bus signature than in Python arguments
/org/freesmartphone/Usage: SetResourcePolicy failed: org.freesmartphone.Usage.ResourceUnknown (Resource GSM had never been registered)

Oh, well.

Cheers,
gregor, who --as usual-- doesn't understand all this stuff
