Well I guess the out-of-the-box phone usage experience is somewhat
sub-par anyway, so the audio settings part is not that critical. Our
current FSO stack doesn't power up the GSM anyway, so one needs to
manually insert for example om gsm power 1 somewhere.

What is probably critical is the xorg.conf, for example the one Neil
posted (from SHR) at
http://lists.openmoko.org/pipermail/community/2010-December/064046.html
- without glx/dri2 for us, though, since we don't have KMS or Mesa
enabled.
