This is becoming ridiculous. I cannot forsee which additional unofficial
ports will arise in future. dpkg should really give some mecanism to
say 'this build dependency applies only when building on a linux
system'.

Perhaps as a workaround, you can patch dpkg-checkbuilddeps to not fail
on some known packages?
