This aside, it would IMHO complicate matters (maintenance) considering
the active upstream.

In my original announcement mail I wrote:

Since I did not get a reply on this, nor did anyone mention moving it, I
would assume it is still there.

In my professional life, I am used to working with large (free software)
upstream projects (u-boot, linux kernel, busybox, uclibc, dropbear,
...) where we need to make some board specific changes to; and from
that experience, I would have to say that putting all code in SVN is a
bad idea.
