I always found that the svn:externals option was added in Subversion
especially for the debian diff.gz file. ;-)

Also I think that the central architecture of Subversion suits best
this' group's needs. Subversion was also used sucesfully by the Debian
Installer team and has proven fit for collaborative maintainace.
