Done; here's the email:

"""
Hello,
I'm a member of the Debian Games Packaging Team, and we've recently started
looking at building a binary package of the Linux version Glest for
distribution as a part of Debian. However, we've encountered a problem; all
of the scripts and source files in the Glest source zipfile are in DOS text
format, and have to be converted to UNIX format in order to be handled
properly on a Linux machine. Additionally, the source distribution file
doesn't include a generated configuration script, like most Linux
applications do.

A Debian source package consists primarily of the original program source and
a patch with any changes needed for Debian -- however, running dos2unix on
all of the text files and generating the configure scripts creates a huge
Debian patch, which is difficult to inspect and a pain to upload when new
versions become available.

In a situation like this, Debian will usually repackage the source file and
distribute that. However, since Glest doesn't have an "official" Linux
version download that is ready to be built from source, we'd like to make
one. The Debian Games team can maintain this and update it when Glest makes a
new release, if you'd like.

Please let me know if you'd like to cooperate with us in making an "official"
Linux distribution or if you'd rather have Debian handle this separately.
