Hello everyone.

First of all sorry for starting new thread, but I wasn't subscribed before,
so it's quite hard to answer mails without previous messages.

I announced today intend to orphane my packages related to games in Debian.

Lurking through archive I saw you're interested in adopting at least some
of them. Let me describe their current situation:

asc/asc-music - alive upstream, upstream is usually very helpful and quite
robust in fixing issues, that's for sure candidate to stay in Debian

csmash/csmash-demosong - last upstream release in 2003 although there are
quite regular commits in CVS, so I wouldn't consider it dead. And in fact
it's really nice game, my second candidate to stay, upstream answers mails,
so maybe it would be worth to contact him and 'force' to release new
version.

libparagui1.0 - 1.0.x branch is dead, all things that depend on it should be
imediately switched to 1.1.x branch which is alive. Upstream is helpful if
you take into account that he forgot about 1.0.x branch and doesn't want to
fix issues in it.

libphysfs-1.0.0 - very useful library used not only by my packages, so it's
also candidate to take over by Debian Games Team. There is 1.0.1 release
but I didn't upload it since it breaks ABI compatibility without changing
SONAME. Upstream is helpful, but those issues have to be discussed.

moagg/moagg-data/moaggedit - that was academic project and seems it won't
be further developed, so it's candidate to drop.

netpanzer/netpanzer-data - without project leader right now, have security
issues I didn't resolve, I doubt it'll be developed further, candidate to
drop.

scorched3d - awesome game with huge community, upstream alive and usually
very helpful, this is "must have" in Debian ;)

starfighter - dead upstream, very buggy, candidate to drop

In sum, I don't want to maintain these packages anymore (I wonder about
joining this team but that's another case). You've got my bless to do with
these packages whatever you want, so asking ftp-master for removal is
justified. You can quote this mail in RM bugreport or sth.

regards
fEnIo
