My setup looks same, but for the graphics controller:

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LY,
xf86-video-ati from git (but also with the version in unstable):
FATAL: ssgInit called without a valid OpenGL context.

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility X1400,
xf86-video-radeonhd from git:
FATAL: ssgInit called without a valid OpenGL context.

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility X1400,
xf86-video-ati from git:
supertuxkart starts, but is unplayable without 3d acceleration :(

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility X1400,
fglrx 8.47.3-3:
supertux starts and is perfectly playable, but I get some warnings:
WARNING: sgMat4ToCoord: ERROR - Bad Matrix.
