Bug#476211: xbat: title screen freezes after a certain point

When starting xbat, the title screen's landscape scroll is very fast.
When the scrolling reaches a certain point (right after a river
scrolls in from the top), the entire process freezes and ceases to
draw its display or respond to keystrokes.
