Bug#580428: please package version 0.5.3

Hi,

I prepared a new package for version 0.5.4. I uploaded in on mentors.d.o[1], 
you can also find a git repo on gitorious.org[2]

I refreshed the patches, converted the package to 3.0 (quilt) and used the
new debhelper override targets to simplify the rules file.
