ok I misunderstood I though this work was happening into the *debian*
gnome packaging team. All of you are right ! Mime types are great, I
never thought as using my file browser to launch games, but it's a nice
way !

A propos front end, I looked a lit a bit for mess front ends to improve
that somehow crude mess experiment

mess to770 -cart basic.m7 -cass ARKANOID.K7

to start a game is not that user friendly

Most active seems to be qt based qmc2 , they regularly build pacakges on
a ubuntu ppa and someone propsed a ( now outdated ) package on
mentors.debian.net

Unfortunately qmc2 takes the all inclusive-with-kitchen approach that I
am not a fan of, I much prefer g-v-a in that matter.
