so basically this is how I see it needs to play out.

Have libsfml2 and its brothers and sisters out in experimental.

Then at some point do a transition of libsfml1.6 to libsfml2. I don't
think there are any games
which depend on libsfml 1.6 or atleast there weren't any games which
depended on libsfml1.6 I could find so it probably would be a
self-contained transition. You will need to write a .ben file for it.

I have also explicitly used your sponsorer's email id so he can also
share with us when he would be committing libsfml2 to the archive (or
is the ball in ftp-master's hands now ? )
