yes, framerate is at least twice faster using the 1.36+svn2287-2 version

with the successive upgrades of mesa or drm of the last six months,
it didn't change the previous answer.

Full screen, 2560x1440

Please see the attached diff. oa is launched, menu is shown, then i quit.
The fact it's going to be slow is visible immediately even before the
openarena menu is shown (during the splash screen animation, it's already slow).

Changing the flares/bloom settings has no obvious impact on performance now.
Changing other settings (bilinear/trilinear, texture details) has some impact
on both versions, as expected (but the 2x difference in framerate doesn't change).

Using a rebuilt ioquake3 package doesn't change anything (just saying).
