Ok let's get this tracked in the BTS.

I don't own this game; so I created this bug and CC'ed Tobias
who provided the original file (but I'm well not 100% sure about that)
and ITP'd the engine.

---

I since have more experience with the "Which files are needed"
problem and there is now the undocumented
  "game-data-packager make-template -e <game>"
mode that execute the game through 'strace -e open'
to get a glimpse of what files are actually needed.

"base/D3BFGConfig.cfg" seems dubious,
more like something that is provided by the engine.

For the shaders I have absolutely no idea.
If they are actually usefull to someone;
but not available everywhere,
they could be tagged "optional".

Thanks,

Alexandre

Hello Alexandre,

i've made a small patch for GDP which removes some unnecessary files
for the Doom 3 BFG Edition, currently GDP includes the save data, for
example. The game works perfectly without these files, and they aren't
created on every system (my Steam version didn't have the unpacked
GLSL and HLSL files). I think it may be worth including this patch,
could you please apply it? Thank you!

Best regards
Patrick
