Here are suggested steps:

This will initalize/refresh ~.cache/lgogdownloader/gamedetails.json:
# apt-get install lgogdownloader/unstable
$ lgogdownloader --login
$ lgogdownloader --update-cache

This gives an overview of one's GOG games:
$ ./run gog 

This should download Doom automatically:
$ ./run doom --no-search -d /tmp --verbose --no-compress
