We are closing this bug report because it lacks the information we need
to investigate the problem, as described in the previous comments.
Please reopen it if you can give us the missing information, and don't
hesitate to submit bug reports in the future. To reopen the bug report
you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change
the Status back to "New". Thanks again!

I would also suggest contacting the game developers and have the user
files moved to ~/.config to allow the user to write to them as needed.

Status in “powermanga” package in Ubuntu: Invalid

Bug description:
Binary package hint: powermanga

Base info:
Using Xubuntu 9.04 both regular and with "proposed" (two systems, both have the same issue).
Powermanga version: 0.90-dfsg-1
I expect the high scores to be updated after playing a game, but they do not. I think this causes it:

The files containing the high scores are only writeable by root. However, every normal user should be able to update the high scores.

The files are located in /var/games/powermanga/:
powermanga.hi
powermanga.hi-easy
powermanga.hi-hard

The "easy" one is used with `powermanga --easy` etc. Setting the files to "world writeable" causes the high scores to be updated as expected. Tested for long playing hours with both normal and easy mode ;)

FURTHER INFO:
There exists a group "games" of which the normal user account (the account I created during the Xubuntu installation) is NOT a member. I can imagine that people would want to restrict gaming possibilities and you could set the above files to be only writeable by group "games". However, that would also cause the game to run less than optimal without tweaking.
