I'm closing this bug since warsow has been removed from Debian & Ubuntu
since it was unmaintained. See http://bugs.debian.org/648317 for more
details.

Title:
Warsow is linked against non existent libopenal.so.0

Status in “warsow” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix
Status in “warsow” package in Debian:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: warsow

  System : Ubuntu Intrepid

  Packages : warsow-0.42.dfsg1-1 / libopenal-1:1.3.253-4ubuntu1

When trying to switch to openal as sound module in warsow it gives an
  error message similar to

  "libopenal.so.0 no found"

while libopenal1 comes with libopenal.so.1 instead. A symlink solves
the problem. The package warsow needs to be relinked / rebuild against
  current libopenal.

libopenal is required to get surround sound as far as I know.
