Public bug reported:

Since official Spring servers require Spring engine v0.96, currently is
not possible to use network battlerooms, and play with others. Much time
passes since Spring RTS has a new version release until Ubuntu users can
use it.

$ lsb_release -ir
Distributor ID:	Ubuntu
Release:	13.10

I expected updates to be more quick.
