  Hello,

I'm hit by this bug too, and I'm quite confident that it causes a FTBS
for librmagick-ruby (see bug 573620); the symptoms are very similar to
those described here. On a related note, I've tried the canonical
example of the use of fonts from the convert web page:

convert -size 320x85 xc:transparent -font Bookman-DemiItalic \
-pointsize 72 -draw "text 25,60 'Magick'" -channel RGBA \
-blur 0x6 -fill darkred -stroke magenta \
  -draw "text 20,55 'Magick'" fuzzy-magick.png

On older imagemagick, it works fine.

On the newer one, it works, but issues the following warnings:

convert: unable to read font `Bookman-DemiItalic' @
warning/annotate.c/RenderType/807.
convert: unable to read font `Bookman-DemiItalic' @
error/annotate.c/RenderFreetype/1044.

warning/annotate.c/RenderType/807.
convert: unable to read font `Bookman-DemiItalic' @
error/annotate.c/RenderFreetype/1044.

I've attached both outputs for comparison; it is clear that the pink
border is missing from the second one.

I beg you to find a fix for that quickly, since I would wish to fix
573620 as well.

I'm willing to help if necessary, but my knowledge of fonts is about
(null).

  Many thanks,

	Vincent
